Fort Dauphin

Fort Dauphin, officially known as Taolagnaro or Tôlanaro, is a historic port city situated on the southeastern coast of Madagascar, serving as the capital of the Anosy Region. Located at approximately -25.02253, 46.98537, it is one of the island's oldest towns, initially established on a narrow peninsula and later expanding along the ocean towards Mount Bezavona. The city is characterized by its stunning crescent-shaped white sand beaches, lush mountains, and the deep blue waters of the Indian Ocean that embrace its northern, eastern, and southern sides. It experiences a tropical rainforest climate, with the dry season from May to October being ideal for visitors.The area is rich in both natural beauty and historical significance.
