Sepupa Swamp Stop Rest Camp is an accommodation located on the banks of the main Okavango River, just outside the village of Sepupa in Botswana. It is situated approximately 60 kilometers south of Shakawe and 330 kilometers from Maun, accessible via a tarmac road with a short 2.5 km gravel road leading to the camp. The camp caters primarily to self-drive campers and overlanders, offering both dedicated camping sites and comfortable lodging options including fixed twin tents and chalets that are either river-facing or garden-facing. The facilities are equipped with mains electricity and include a fully stocked bar, a restaurant serving evening meals and full breakfasts (by prior booking), and bar snacks throughout the day. Guests can also enjoy two swimming pools and a large ablution block.While the camp does not directly organize mokoro trails, transfers can be arranged to Seronga, about 90 minutes away by motorboat, for guests to experience traditional mokoro excursions. The area is renowned for exceptional bird watching, and boat trips often yield sightings of hippos, crocodiles, and Sitatunga. Fishing is a popular activity at certain times of the year, with Tiger, Bream, and Barbel being common catches, and opportunities for picnic lunches on nearby islands. For those seeking larger wildlife, the Tsodilo Hills, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its bushman paintings, is approximately 60 kilometers from the camp and suitable for day trips. Additionally, the Mahango Game Reserve, located about 70 kilometers across the border in Namibia, offers a chance to spot big game and can also be visited on a day trip.
