Fregate Private Island is an exclusive, owner-managed island in the Seychelles, located approximately 55 kilometers east of Mahé. Spanning 200 hectares, an area comparable to Monaco, the island is largely undeveloped, with 90% dedicated to conservation efforts. Its landscape is characterized by lush tropical vegetation, pristine white-sand beaches, and dramatic granite boulders that rise from the shorelines. The island features seven distinct beaches, with Anse Victorin often recognized as one of the world's most beautiful. The highest point on the island is Mount Signal, reaching an elevation of 125 meters.The island is a significant haven for biodiversity, home to one of the Indian Ocean's most ambitious island restoration projects. Over 3,000 Aldabra giant tortoises roam freely, a substantial increase from an initial population of 150. Conservation efforts have also successfully restored over 40 bird species, including nine endemic to the Seychelles, notably bringing the Seychelles Magpie Robin back from the brink of extinction. Fregate's beaches are crucial nesting sites for approximately 1% of the global critically endangered Hawksbill sea turtle population. Endemic insect species, such as the flightless Fregate Island giant tenebrionid beetle and the Fregate Island Enid snail, also thrive here.Fregate Private Island offers a luxurious and secluded experience with 17 Fregate Villas and Estates, designed for couples, families, and multi-generational stays.
