Mozambique Beaches

Mozambique boasts a spectacular 2,500 km coastline along the Indian Ocean, characterized by empty, palm-fringed, sandy beaches. The country's tropical climate ensures warm temperatures year-round, with the dry season from May to October being ideal for visitors due to sunny and pleasant weather. The coastal waters are influenced by the warm Mozambique Current, contributing to pleasant swimming temperatures and a rich marine ecosystem.The beaches are diverse, ranging from the popular Praia da Macaneta near Maputo, known for its big waves suitable for surfers, to the golden sands of Ponta do Ouro in the south. Inhambane Province is home to the renowned Bazaruto Archipelago, a group of five islands famous for crystal-clear waters, thriving marine life, and pristine beaches, offering activities like snorkeling, diving, and dhow sailing. The archipelago is a significant refuge for dugongs in the Western Indian Ocean and hosts diverse habitats including coral reefs, seagrass meadows, and sand dunes.
