Hartmann's Valley

Hartmann's Valley is a remote and arid geographical region situated in the far northwestern tip of Namibia, within the expansive Kaokoland. Extending for approximately 70 kilometers from end to end, the valley is characterized by a desolate yet captivating moonscape of sand and rock, flanked by towering mountains and vast plains. Its topography is shaped by the dry riverbeds of the ephemeral Hartmann River. A striking natural feature is the Kunene River, which forms Namibia's border with Angola and nurtures a narrow, lush belt of vegetation, creating a stark contrast with the surrounding desert.
