Jomo Kenyatta Public Beach, also widely known as Pirates Beach, is a prominent public beach situated in Mombasa, Kenya. It is uniquely recognized as the only public beach in Mombasa, bordering Bamburi Beach to its south and Nyali Beach to its north. The beach is easily accessible from Mombasa Island via public transport and is celebrated for its extensive stretch of silky white silica sand and inviting turquoise waters. It operates as a 24/7 active hub, with some nightclubs and vendors remaining operational until the early morning hours. For safety, a Red Cross Rescuer & Emergency Centre is available, providing first aid services until 6 p.m., after which swimming is cautioned against. The beach underwent renovations in 2019 and reopened to the public in 2021.
