Mbezi Beach

Mbezi Beach is a developing coastal area situated approximately 20 kilometers north of Dar es Salaam's city center in Tanzania, stretching between the New Bagamoyo Road and the Indian Ocean. It has become a favored residential choice for expatriates and affluent Tanzanians, offering a more spacious and tropical environment compared to the bustling Msasani Peninsula. The area is characterized by lush greenery and features housing primarily in two-story villas or bungalows set within large, gated plots of land, providing a sense of openness and privacy.Despite its appeal, Mbezi Beach faces infrastructural challenges, including often poor road conditions, especially during the rainy season, and frequent shortages of water and power. Consequently, many residences are equipped with their own water tanks and generators. The area also lacks street lighting. Essential services and amenities are available, such as the International Medical and Technological University (IMTU) hospital, the White Sands hotel and resort known for its sports and recreational facilities, the Kinduchi Beach hotel, Karibu art gallery, and Heaven of Peace Academy (HOPAC), a prominent international school. The nearest shopping facilities and public transport connections are located in Kawe, to the south.The beach itself is part of the northern suburbs of Dar es Salaam, offering sandy shores, though the coastline is quite diverse and much of it is privately owned. Visitors can enjoy sunbathing, swimming, and leisurely strolls. The dry season, from June to October, is considered the best time to visit, offering warm temperatures, low humidity, and minimal rainfall, ideal for beach activities and outdoor exploration. Water sports like snorkeling, jet skiing, and paddleboarding are popular, and boat trips to nearby islands are also available. The local community is welcoming, and cultural experiences, including traditional music and dance events, are part of the vibrant lifestyle.
